ATORVASTATIN (LIPITOR) FOR HIGH CHOLESTEROL | What are the Side Effects?
lipitor.
First do no harm.
You won’t live longer, but it will seem like it since you will be miserable.
I am 35, broke my rib doing Jiu Jitsu and found out I have some plaque starting (Score 70). I was put on a statin but my lipid panel looks fantastic. I had to stop, it was makign me so tired and ruining my gym gains. I'm sorry – maybe later on in life, but I need as much Cholesterol to make Testosterone 🙂
I quit taking this when I got Laryngeal voice box cancer. And it was good I did,my white blood count was really good cause I stopped it. Muscle cramps stopped too. I have been given 14 scripts for my problems. Feel better without all the meds. Only use my inhaler for the most part
It’s causing me so much pain and severe heartburn other side effects
What else can i take? Thanks
This medicine makes me sick and joints hurt. Just me.
AFTER 5 month of use, my left hand is almost completely paralyzed…..! but the doctor told me to go on with my medication… So, I had to stop the drug and change my doctor…!😎😁😁😁👍 No sugar and carbs (keto diet!) and there is no need for the statins any more… I my health improves now on a daily base…
Atorvasatin has a very interesting side effect – it increases the risk of type 2 diabetes because it attacks your pancreas.
Muscle aches? My whole body ached so bad I was having trouble mowing the lawn. That was 20 years ago. Bye bye statins.
I have heard of many serious side effects with atorovastin. Of course for those who have significant high cholesterol, or are at risk for a heart attack or stroke the benefits outweigh the risks. For others, who can control their high cholesterol through diet and exercise – it may be better to be weaned off of it.
Trillion dollar Medication, Statin wars.
I had every symptom listed and not muscle pain but loss of the use of my legs…..I took myself off because he wouldnt take me off it. My blood sugar normalized my BP normalized, my type 2 pre diabetes went away, 52 percent people on statins have type 2 diabetes symptoms that is not Small. These are dangerous drugs unless a person has had a heart attack. They are over used. Doctors need to do 100 percent blood analysis and gut biome analysis before prescribing any drug. That is due diligence. Functional medicine before drugs should be mandatory. . Our Big Pharma needs higher regulation on false studies and too high prices and perks to doctors to push these meds. Not buying this.
Total Click Bait, USELESS video. Watch BEFORE you take Atorvastatin? Sheesh. My Doc Prescribed 20mg, I cut the pill in half, and already feel better!
I had high some issues with the medicine and I had high liver ensimes so my doctor had me break tablet in half and it seems to be working, that was over 11/2 years ago
You know you're getting old when your cardiologist prescribed this
I had debilitating cramps in my hands on atorvostatin.
New subscriber😀, thanks for the educative and informative msg..
Is it true that some people naturally run safely with a high cholestrol level up around 250 to 300 throughout their entire life without any artery or heart problems?
I'm using it mainly for high triglycerides. Anybody taking it for the same reason and how are you doing with it?
Hey doc I think you’re being disingenuous saying do use of Lipitor and other stands significantly reduces the risk of plaque buildup and the arteries. The wrist is an increase from 1% to 2% which truly is insignificant. Furthermore, The risk of these statins doubles the chance that someone taking this will get dementia. I urge you to read the journal of nuclear medicine published May 2021. The article/study is entitled lipophilic stands and subjects with early mild cognitive impairment: associations with conversion to dementia and decline and posterior cingulate brain metabolism and a long-term perspective longitudinal multi center study..
this vidieo makes me want to go eat shit. I am so damn so confused i don't know which way to turn. PS I meant to cancel this comment but I said oh well what the hell so I just went with it.
I STOP TAKING ATORVASTATIN BCAUSE I CAN'T SLEEP. THANKS FOR GREAT , GREAT INFORMATION!!!
I was just given lipitor, but week prior to that was given trazodone, but I read where trazodone interacts with lipitor, I also have hydoxyine,, sigh..I guess the med for anxiety, I will have to let go..I was really taking mainly just the hydroxyzine, scared of trazodone.. now seems I may not be able take either.
Now my ekg, urinyalsis, and all etc blood work came back excellent, BP too 124/78
i'm on this medication for 5 mos. and it lowers down my cholesterol and taking only 10 mg. this is the only one that i can tolerate'
My blood pressure is 140/80, I'm 71, my cholesterol is still with in the tolerance. I was prescribed 40ml/g. My arms, joints ache, I stopped taking it.
What other medication can I add to my daily 10mgs Lipitor to elevate my HDL? My HDL is around 33, I’d love to get it to 45-48 if possible. Any ideas? Thanks.
Our drs have most of us on these tablets. I have them in the mornings now. I was awake for hours at night when I was taking amytriptiline at same time. So taking them in morning am back sleeping again. I do have pain in my knees though. My cholesterol is not overly high. I worry re all the pills I take blood pressure pills too. Been on them since age 21. My grandad had same issues.
After statins I had allergy… like sun burn but before that I used to get tanned but not sunburn …. any advice..?
Heloo doctor I just started mint 10mg is the mint one good medicine.??
i love the way discuss thank u 🙏👍🙏👍
Look into the camera, looking to the side is distracting thanks.
Thankyou Doctor!
I'm on Atorvastatin and so far I Don get any side effects……
This is complete rubbish. If you want a genuine exploration of heart disease, go to Dr Paul Mason or Cardiologist Nadir Ali. They give a much deeper understanding and argue that LDL cholesterol is beneficial and the research into statins by big pharma are biased, suppress information and cherry pick and gross manipulation the reporting of the data to make it look beneficial and radically downplay the side affects! Ignore this doctor, he has no idea!
Tq 🙏
This drug caused ankle swelling .
I have had high total cholesterol (just below 300) and unhealthy HDL/LDL ratio for a long time. I did not tolerate any of the statins and my MD was not enthusiastic about them anyway especially for seniors. Two months ago I started REPATHA which is an injected cholesterol medication and my first blood test had my total number at 150 and my ratio had improved 100%. The injection is very easy with the incapsulated syringe and unexposed needle the process takes 15 seconds every 2 weeks. I encourage you to mention REPATHA to your doctor if you have high cholesterol. Back to the statin subject..none of them helped my cholesterol numbers dramatically anyway.
I take Lipitor 80mg Atorvastatin and have done for a long time
I also have a AAA Anorisim other medication I take Aspirin 75 mg Amlodipine 10mg and also Ramipril 2.5mg
Any advice please tell me
Wasn't Lipitor sued for the largest settlement ever?.
All you know is what big pharma wants you to believe and say. In other words bother of you are liars.
You do not know the body. What you say is your to be on it the rest of your life. No way will I ever do this.

I had to get off them due to 3 side affects , My good friend is on the highest dosage and still ends up getting stints 3 times so far? And he had 2 heart attacks on them. I don't think it's working for him but he's still taking statins
Best explanation I have heard in the past three years. Excellent presentation. Doctor.
You’re such a sold out dr. You know statins are a scam. You aren’t honest and you d rather go along to get along. Statins are THE CA USE of Mu and CVAs. It’s disgusting listening to you.
After a year, the researchers found that 90% of the symptoms people recorded when taking statins were also present when they took the placebo. Once the group was shown these results and saw their nocebo response, half felt confident to restart statins and were able to tolerate them.
I don't believe you, and I wont take any Statins after doing my own research! I suggest everyone do the same.
I don't understand why I was placed on this medication when I was only at "borderline high cholesterol" and since than I've changed my diet and lifestyle and lost 100 lbs.
